From Trails to Tables: Protecting Earth, Palawan Style
"Our rivers give us life, let's return the favor."
Saving Daigdig Project travels this time to Puerto Princesa, Palawan! Last June 28, 2025, we, together with The Good News (Planet Cleanup), collaborated to develop an activity that provides fun and excitement for participants while also protecting the Earth.
Hiking and a boodle fight in one day? Hard to say no to that. Add in a cleanup drive where participants picked up litter and sorted recyclables, now that’s a meaningful way to work up an appetite and make a difference. Every year, millions of tons of waste pollute our environment, harming wildlife, oceans, forests, and even human health. It's a growing crisis, but now is the time to step up!
United with volunteers, provided gear and materials, all made possible through the support of donations and purchases of our products that led to this cause. The Good News aims to raise awareness about the garbage crisis and promote environmental restoration for both humanity and wildlife. Meanwhile, we, Saving Daigdig Project, offers affordable, foldable, and polarized sunglasses made from recycled plastic bottles. Each purchase helps fund environmental projects like this cleanup drive. Together, these two initiatives reduce waste and spread awareness, while inspiring more people to join the cause.
Participants began the event with a hike from Ca-Malyc Riverside to Visor Riverside. Along the way, they were treated to breathtaking views while collecting scattered litter, restoring the natural beauty of the landscape. Seeing both youth and adults working side by side was truly heartening. Generations united for one purpose: to protect and care for our planet. Instead of choosing rest, they chose to take action.
The reward after the hike and cleanup? A well-deserved boodle fight! Volunteers were treated to a delicious, lovingly prepared meal—an appreciation for their energy and efforts in bringing the Earth closer to the restoration it deserves.
To cap off the event, participants were encouraged to take on a social media challenge: share their experiences and inspire others. It’s a simple act that helps spread awareness and extend the impact of cleanup efforts far and wide.
This event wouldn’t have been possible without the help of everyone involved. We are truly grateful!
On behalf of Saving Daigdig Project and The Good News, a massive thank you to all who made this possible. Together, we are one step closer to a cleaner, greener future.
Thank you, Saving Daigdig Volunteers! 🌍💚♻️
